Here are some articles coming in from the internet featuring Beth Doublin Reutter. All of the girls on Beth’s dorm floor from SEMO U were cheering for Beth’s daughter, Katherine Reutter, as she skated for the USA for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. Every time the camera panned to Beth, we could see the anxious pre skate Beth versus the jubliant and relieved Mom after the race was over. What a life changing experience the Reutters are going thru! The Dearmont Dollies of SEMO U in Cape Girardeau, Mo are celebrating with you.
Enjoy these articles on Beth as I find them. Looks like she was as well disciplined a Mom as she was a student! Newest article that came out was about what Katherine plans to do for her parents after the Olympics. Have you got a hankerchief ready???

Here is a great scheduling grid from Boston Globe. Katherine Reutter is in the women’s short track speed skating. On Saturday, Feb 13th, she qualified for the Wednesday Feb.17 race. I guess it will be on tv that night.
When the Vancouver Olympics start February 12th. Beth Doublin Ruetter’s dorm mates from SEMO will be watching with pride. Beth’s daughter, Katherine Reutter, is a member of the 2010 women’s speed skating team.
It has been quite a journey for the family. Beth took Katherine to skating lessons when she was four, but figure skating held no interest for the girl. She saw the speed skaters and fell in love. There was no turning back. Katherine was in the right place at the right time. She lives in the same town as speed skater Bonnie Blair, so there was a great short track speed skating tradition in the area. The family has been at every event along the way supporting her.
The USA speed skating team had some financial worries coming into these games. Of all people, Stephen Colbert stepped into the void and with internet support from his fan base, is sponsoring the USA Speed Skaters. That in itself is weird. Here is Katherine on the Stephen Colbert Show recently.
You can read more about Katherine Reutter here. I will have direct contact with her mom during the events, so catch my Facebook and Twitter.
Here is an interview with her parents before the Olympics with the local paper.
Nice article from the St. Louis Post Dispatch

Get Promoted believes in giving back! Support our athletes as they represent us in the Vancouver Olympics 2010. Katherine does, too. She has been appointed as an ambassador to Team for Tommorrow.
Team for Tomorrow is a humanitarian relief effort through which U.S. athletes offer assistance and support to people around the world who are in need. Humanitarian relief and assistance takes place in the form of donations, volunteerism, disaster recovery support, advocacy and other contributions to communities. The program offers U.S. athletes a way to stay connected to sport in a meaningful way, finding new significance in what it means to represent our country
Reutter and the Team for Tomorrow will also connect with Habitat for Humanity affiliates in their hometown following their return from the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. U.S. athletes will donate service hours, building houses in partnership with families in need and giving back to their local communities throughout the United States.
Keep up with Katherine through this tag. When her name is mentioned, it comes on to this page. Go USA!
